Hi! I'm Rachel!
I am an honours graduate of the Mohawk College Applied Music Program with a major in Jazz Voice Performance. I have been playing piano for most of my life. I have experience in many different disciplines including; Jazz, Pop, choral accompaniment, composition, and much more. I am a multi-instrumentalist with experience in brass, woodwind, guitar, autoharp, and percussion instruments.
With 16 years of teaching experience, I strive to build strong student/teacher bonds and foster a sense of self accomplishment in my students. I mix fun with fundamentals, offering a technical and entertaining learning environment. I provide individual lesson plans tailored to each student and I do my very best to support each students unique goals. Everyone learns differently and making music accessible to all is very important to me.
I am a Hamilton, Ontario based, award-winning vocalist that has played in many area bands, and work as a session vocalist. My work includes session vocal work and co-op with Grant Avenue Studios, private and small group music instruction that includes musical theatre, ensemble, and choir programming. I continue to explore my craft and expand my expertise as a musician and educator.
